Artist Biography

Leigh Ann Willar McDonagh, aka Gila Girl, was born and raised in a small town in Pennsylvania, USA. At 17, she left home for a year abroad as an exchange student in the U.K. On returning to the States, she studied filmmaking and fine art  at Penn State University, eventually settling in Denver, Colorado USA, where she worked as a writer and editor. She relocated to the U.K. in 2001. She currently works from her 11th floor studio, high above Coventry city centre. 

She is an active member of Coventry ArtSpace, (www.coventry-artspace.co.uk) a vibrant charity dedicated to supporting and developing the visual arts in Coventry. She is also a professional member artist on www.curatorspace.com.
